It was a sunny day in late march. Every year we already see Sakura or cherry blossom in these days but this year the stars of spring were yet bloomed. I wend to take photos requested by an American company to the center of city Osaka. That area is called Minami famous as one of the biggest night entertainment districts in this city. I met Secco and her two-year-old son there a few days before photo session.

She said they had never taken photos of both at photography studio. Once they tried, but her son cried and cried and they left a studio with nothing. I invited her to come to my place for mother and child portraiture.

On the session day, the child was fretting from the very first minutes. I rather liked that moments when the mother tried to understand the source of his unease.

She pretended to feed him on her breast milk. Her breasts no longer make it. The son went to mother’s under shirts and took a nap.  I and mother was talking about fatherhood while he’s gone. After the child woke up, he was a totally different person. He smiled, and the mother smiled. He kissed her. She said he has never kissed her before.
